Charnwood Forest Cycle Ride in aid of Muscular Dystrophy

Can you help Emma raise money for Muscular Dystrophy by taking part in the Charnwood Forest Cycle ride?  The charity hopes to double the number of cyclists this year and to raise £10,000 through a £15 registration fee and additional sponsorship from cyclists.

Emma’s Story

My son Alex (he’s 5) has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  It is a terrible illness that will leave him wheelchair bound and completely paralysed by late teens. At the moment he’s just like any other little boy and to most you wouldn’t even know anything was wrong. But inside his muscles are deteriorating at an alarming rate. And unless we can stop it in it’s tracks and find a cure he is unlikely to live beyond his 30’s. But we do have hope… with charities like the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign who fund researches to look at new treatments it is now looking likely that a cure be found in the next 5-10 years. But we need to continue to raise money and awareness to find this work. The Charnwood Forest Cycle Ride is one great way to do this.

If you would like to help raise money by taking part please contact Emma Hallam on 07903 349475 and she will arrange to have a rider pack sent out to you.
